Integrated Vector and Pest Management (IVPM) is a rational decision-making process to optimize the use of resources for vector control. IVPM requires a management approach that improves the efficacy, cost effectiveness, ecological soundness and sustainability of vector control interventions with the available tools and resources. In the face of current challenges to vector control, the IVPM approach is vital to achieving the national and global targets set for vector-borne disease control.
